NEW CLASSES FOR WINTER!

FRIDAY TEEN CLASS
The Children's Art Studio will offer a class for teens on Fridays from 4:30 - 5:30.
Because we follow the DCPS calendar, we will meet on the following days:
January 13, 27
February 10, 17, 24
March 2, 9, 16
The cost for the eight meetings is $215.
We hope your teen will join us!


SATURDAY MORNING CLASS, MINI SESSION
The Children's Art Studio will offer a class on Saturday mornings from 10-12.
All ages welcome, (5 and up).  We will meet Jan 14, 21, 28 and Feb 4.
The cost for the eight hour session is $200.
Drop ins welcome at $50.

WINTER 2012 SCHEDULE OF CLASSES

Winter classes start on January 10, 2012.  The Winter Session runs for ten classes.  The cost for the session is $270, which includes all materials.  Please see descriptions below to select the class most appropriate for your child.

My Grown-Up and Me in the Morning
Children will have an opportunity to work with many materials (paper, water color, found objects, wood and clay) and explore diverse techniques (cutting, pasting, drawing, painting and building).  This class is designed for children aged two to three years old.  An adult must accompany each child.  Nannies, grand parents and care givers are most welcome. We hope your child will join us for these playful and enriching mornings!
An Afternoon Art Class for Nursery School Children
This course is designed for Nursery School aged children.  We will touch each of the fundamentals of drawing, painting, sculpture, color and printing with fun-filled exercises.  This is a drop-off class.  Please select Wednesday OR Thursday. Have your child spend one afternoon a week in our beautiful studio having a blast with their peers as they explore their creativity.
Introduction to Art Making
This course will introduce children to the techniques of collage, sculpture, printing, drawing and painting.  Color theory, quality of line, composition, contour, tone and balance are ideas we will explore as we look at art historical examples and make rewarding projects over the ten-week session.  Tuesdays are dedicated to PK and K   (Children must have turned four by September 30th to attend this class). Thursdays are for 1st graders and up.  Wednesday is mixed age.
Enrollment Instructions
To enroll your child in a class, please email childrensartstudio@gmail.com with your child's name, age and the name of the class.  Then mail a check made out to The Children's Art Studio to our address below in order secure your child's space in the class.
